New Vice Rectors of the University of Turku
The new Vice Rectors of the University of Turku, starting at the beginning of the year 2010, are Harri Lönnberg, Pirjo Nuutila and Tapio Reponen.
As Vice Rector, the duties of Harri Lönnberg, 60, Professor of Organic Chemistry, will include strategies, funding and infrastructures of research, monitoring of research performance as well as research services and industrial cooperation.
As Vice Rector, Pirjo Nuutila, 50, Professor of Internal Medicine, will be responsible for monitoring, evaluation and development of quality systems as well as postgraduate education.
As Vice Rector, the duties of Tapio Reponen, 62, Professor of Information Systems and Rector of the current Turku School of Economics, will be development of education and teaching as well as promoting societal and interest group relations.
The Vice Rectors’ term of office starts on 1 January 2010 and ends together with the Rector’s term on 31 July 2012.
