The new Rector is selected in February and starts working in August.

A Rector is expected to be highly skilled in the management of individual employees as well as large entities. The requirements include a doctoral degree and a strong academic background. Good leadership capabilities and excellent public performance skills are vital in the successful management of the task.
- We strive to complete the selection process in February 2012 in order to give the new Rector time to get acquainted with his or her duties in late spring. The new Rector will then start working on 1 August 2012, tells Hannu Kokkonen, the chairman of the Board.
The Rector is appointed by the Board of the University.
