Researchers coming from abroad

The University of Turku encourages global-scale mobility and welcomes researchers from abroad who are experts in their field. The links on this page provide information on the practical matters needed for coming to Turku for prospective employees as well as visiting researchers and scholars.   • Survival Guide for international students and scholars
    The Survival Guide is a compact and concise booklet of practical information about living in Turku. This guide contains an abundance of information about e.g. working and taxes, residence, health care, shopping and transportation.
  • The Finnish Way of Living guide aims to facilitate the integration of foreigners living in Finland into the Finnish society. It has been published in the electronic format and as a book (in Finnish, English and Russian).
  • The Friendship Programme run by the Institutions of Higher Education in Turku offers the possibility to learn more about the Finnish culture and everyday life. The registration to the programme is twice a year, in the beginning of each semester. These institutions have also offered lecture series on Finnish culture and society. The programme in 2011 has not been confirmed yet.
