Internationally acknowledged postdoctoral research in Science and Medicine
The Turku Collegium for Science and Medicine (TCSM), was launched with funding from the Consortium comprising the University of Turku and Turku School of Economics. The aim is to establish a multidisciplinary, interactive research platform for young dynamic scientists in Science and Medicine. This includes studies in the mathematics, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, medicine, and their equivalents. The goal is to establish TCSM as an integral and permanent part of the University of Turku.
Turku Collegium for Science and Medicine selects its researchers through an international competition, which is open to all researchers in the respective fields. Researchers at TCSM will have an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary research environment of high international standard. The Board for TCSM selects the new researchers on the basis of their applications. In the selection process, the attention is paid to
- Suitability to the position (potential for independent research work, the stage of the research career)
- Scientific competence
- International experience, and
- The quality of the research plan.
TCSM researchers are appointed for fixed-term positions at the University of Turku. TCSM researchers are also expected to train doctoral students and contribute to the teaching at the host department and university. The positions are funded for 3 years at the time.
