Applying - Biomedical Imaging

Who can apply?

The programme is open to applicants who have sufficient background knowledge in biological and/or natural sciences, and who have completed a lower university degree, BSc degree (180 ECTS), in the field of:
  • biomedical sciences
  • biology
  • biochemistry
  • medical sciences
  • other life sciences
  • physics
  • chemistry
  • engineering
The applicants should also be familiar with the basics of laboratory practice. Both Finnish and foreign students are welcome to apply for the programme.

The online application form is available on the Finnish Studyinfo portal (www.studyinfo.fi) starting from 1st of December, 2016. NB! The online application form is available only during the application period.

The applicant fills in the application form and submits it online, collects all the required enclosures and sends them by mail to University Admissions Finland.

How to increase the chances to get admission?

The Master´s Programme in Biomedical Imaging is jointly administered by both the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Åbo Akademi University and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Turku. Students can apply to either University of Turku or Åbo Akademi University. 
 
In order to increase the chances of being admitted to this programme, applicants are advised to apply to both of the universities offering the programme. Note that in order to do so the applicants MUST complete two application forms and send in both applications and two sets of enclosures. This is due to the fact that the applications will be processed at both universities.The applicants must also put the programmes applied to in order of preference. The language test score report is sent directly to Univeristy Admissions Finland by the testing agency and it is enough to only send one copy of the language test.
