Grantee experience: doctorate studies in the University of Turku with Aurora II grant
The EU-funded Erasmus Mundus (EMA2) project Aurora II has been launched and coordinated by University of Turku to foster a strong academic network between EU and Russian partners through promotion of mobility exchange. Johann Comolle interviewed Aurora II grantee Mr Evgenii Volen, who came to Turku from St Petersburg State Universtity for doctorate research in Social Sciences.

Update in EACEA's provisions for the processing of personal data
The Educational, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) updated its 'provisions for the processing of personal data' in the context of the 'Erasmus Mundus Programme' and 'Erasmus+ Programme'.

International Partners Week at Higher School of Economics
On 19-23 June 2017 National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) hold its first International Partners Week (IPW) as a part of HSE’s 25th anniversary celebrations. It is HSE’s belief that the 25th anniversary of the university is not so much a one-time occasion just for celebration or sharing success stories. Quite the opposite, this is a good time to strengthen academic ties to continue expanding and working with more partners.

10 Years of Erasmus Mundus Partnerships Conference
EACEA organised a conference in Brussels to celebrate 10 years of Erasmus Mundus Action 2. The conference collected over 70 invited participants both from EU and non-EU countries. University of Turku represented the projects Triple I (2008-2015), Aurora and Aurora II (2012-2017) as well as BMU-MID and MID (2011-2016).

Turku and Udmurtia: active cooperation in Finno-Ugric languages
EMA2 Aurora project has been an important source of international staff and researchers exchange within the Partner Universities. For instance, 47 staff visitors have been able to visit the Host University abroad thanks to the project in order to learn best practices and transfer their skills and knowledge. Furthermore, 51 Doctorate and 24 Post-Doctorate students were able to work on their theses and scientific articles in one of the Aurora Partner Universities.

EMA2 Aurora project ended successfully
Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project AURORA – Towards Modern and Innovative Higher Education has closed on 14.07.2016. Altogether 240 academic mobilities and visits were implemented throughout the project lifetime.

The Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme in Education and Research supports joint cooperation projects between higher education and research institutions in Russia and the Nordic Countries. Programme is managed by Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU).
