EMA2 MID project ended successfully
MID Consortium

EMA2 MID Project was funded by Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency to facilitate academic exchange between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of European Union and Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. As a result, mobilities from 56 different study fields have been implemented within 19  Partner Universities*.

The initial target distribution of the mobilities by level of studies was well respected: 27%  Undergraduates, 22,4% Master mobilities, 18,1% Doctorates, 13,1% Post-Doctorates, 19,4% Academic Staff benefited from the Project. Moreover, Consortium has been able to award 17 grants than originally planned in the application (237 instead of 220).

Distribution of Grantees by their Home country showed that majority of Grantees came from Ukraine (97); 57 students were from Belarus, 32 – from Georgia, 16 – from Moldova, 14 – from Armenia, and 1 from Azerbaijan. Rest of Grantees – around 8,43% of the total number of Grantees – were from EU HEIs.

The most popular European Host University according to the number of implemented mobilities became Humboldt University Berlin (35 incoming Grantees), closely followed by the University of Bologna and Vilnius University (30 incoming Grantees each). The most popular Host University from non-EU countries was Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (5 incoming Grantees, as well as 29 outgoing Grantees).

Grantees have been very satisfied with their mobility and grateful for the opportunity to gain invaluable experience abroad. Exchange opportunities for doctorate, post-doctorate and staff Grantees resulted in at least 59 scientific publications produced during and after the MID project. Visits and connections that had been realized thanks to the MID project will contribute to manifold institutional and scientific cooperation between the HEIs of the Partnership (for instance, Erasmus Global Credit Mobility program, bi-, and multilateral exchange and cooperation agreements between Universities etc).

*Initially 20; Taurida National V.I. Vernadsky University withdrew the Consortium in 2014.
