Conference Venue

Turku University is an active academic community of 25,000 students and staff members. The Faculty of Education is one of the seven faculties and it has two campuses: one in Turku and the other one in Rauma, 90 km up the Southwest coast of Finland. 

In both cities, the Department of Teacher Education has an affiliated teacher training school. The Rauma Campus is a unique and idyllic cultural environment that is over a hundred years old. ​On the Rauma Campus, all the university buildings are situated close together on the same hill.

Conference Site

Rauma is one of the oldest towns in Finland (est. 1442), which has developed from a small village into a lively and friendly industrial and harbor town with around 40,000 residents. The town is famous for its long lacemaking tradition and distinctive dialect. 

Rauma has long traditions as a significant center of industry and trade, where history meets the present, creating a vibrant town with a unique atmosphere. Rauma is also home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Old Rauma and Sammallahdenmäki, which is a Bronze Age burial site.
