What to do after you have submitted the Exchange Application Form
1) Send the required enclosures by post
- Transcript of Records (list of courses taken at home university)

Please note that you should assess your skills of the language you are going to study in. (English, Finnish and/or Swedish) Not required from native speakers or from those who have a valid TOEFL/IELTS test result. - Please check that your coordinator has sent a nomination / official letter of confirmation to the University of Turku stating that you are an exchange student nominated by your university
- Learning Agreement is part of the Application Form, so you do not have to send it separately. Please note that due to the amount of applications and enclosures we do not automatically send the Learning Agreement back to you. You will receive a signed Learning Agreement after arriving to Turku. If you need it before you arrive to Turku, please tick the relevant box in the Application Form.
N.B. Your application will not be processed untill you have submitted all of the required enclosures!
When an application and its enclosures arrive in time, it takes a minimum of 3 weeks to process the application. All complete applications will be processed in May-June and students will be informed in mid-July the latest. Applicants should note that summer holidays in Finland areduring the months of July and August. Therefore it is very important that all enclosures arrive before the deadline.

- If you are interested in taking courses from other higher education institutions in Turku (such as Åbo Akademi University), please read the instructions carefully!
2) If the University of Turku grants you a right to study you will receive an Information Package. This package includes information about studying, housing and other important matters related to studying in Turku. Please note that you can only apply for housing after you have been accepted. Students should apply for housing themselves by filling in the electronic application form at the web page of the Housing Office a minimum of 6 weeks before the first day of the lease. Leases are made for whole semesters (Autumn and/or Spring Semester). Please read more information about what you need to do before you leave for Finland.
3) Apply for a visa / residence permit if necessary. For more information, contact your nearest Finnish Embassy or Consulate. Consult also Finnish Immigration Service.
