International affairs and student counselling is organised on several levels at the University of Turku. Please check which support services are appropriate for your needs:
International Officers at the Faculties
Each of the six faculties of the University of Turku has its own international officer who is the administrative link between you and the departments. They are responsible for administrative matters such as programme admission.
- Administrative matters e.g. admission procedures for exchange students, information on courses in English
- Study counselling (only in smaller faculties)
- ECTS Learning Agreements (e.g. changes to the previous learning agreement)
International Office Staff
The staff of the International Office is in charge of coordinating the international affairs at the university level. They support the faculties and departments in international affairs. The International Office also handles the production and distribution of study and student guides as well as promotional marketing materials. International Office organises Orientation courses for students.
Student Services
Representatives of Student Services can assist you with all administrative matters of the student register. Student Services is responsible for all of your academic and personal information held in the university study register.

Academic guidance at the faculties
Study Advisors and the Heads of Academic and Student Affairs are available at each faculty for guidance concerning study affairs at the faculty.

At the departmental level, the departmental contact person or the non-degree programme coordinator can help you with specific inquiries about course and programme details such as course content, objectives and instructors.

Secretary for International Affairs at the Student Union
The Secretary for International Affairs is responsible for the support services provided for international students at the Student Union of the University of Turku.

Your personal tutor
The personal tutor is a volunteer Finnish student whose responsibility is to help you get adjusted to student and daily life in Turku. The tutor's contact information is sent to you via email after you have been accepted by the University of Turku.
