The University of Turku charges tuition fees from all non EU/ETA citizens unless they receive the scholarship of the University of Turku. Also, holders of certain types of residence permits or family members of EU/ETA/Switzerland citizens are not charged.
How to pay the tuition fee?
- Check the exact amount of tuition fee from your admission offer.
- Decide whether you want to pay the fee in one or two installments
- Go to UTUshop and choose the right MA programme.
- Choose the right option in the drop-down list on the right and follow the instructions.
The deadline for paying the tuition fee (full or half) is 31 July, 2017.
Some students are offered a scholarship which covers 100% or 50% of the tuition fee. The grant offer is sent to these students together with the admission offer. They must accept the study place and the scholarship by 21 April 2017.
If you were offered a scholarship covering 50 % of your tuition fee you must pay the other half first. After that your scholarship is paid and the other half of your tuition compensated.
If you were accepted conditionally for the Degree studies at the University of Turku, the Grant is also conditional until you have also fulfilled the requirements needed for the Study Right.
Scholarship for the Second Academic Year
The scholarship received in the beginning of the studies will also directly compensate the second academic year fully or partly if your Master Degree Studies have proceeded as expected during the first year.
- You should have completed 45 credits by 26 March 2017
- OR 55 credits by 30 June 2017.
University of Turku also awards second year scholarships to students who did not get the scholarship in the first place but have performed exceptionally well during their first year. This scholarship can be applied for in spring 2018.
