Graduation Ceremony » Publiikki

The Master's commencement, which dates back to the old Academia Aboensis of Turku in 1640, thrives as the backdrop to the graduation ceremony.

The model for the commencement was taken from the University of Uppsala, which in turn rested on a Central European tradition. The graduation and commencement ceremony is centuries old, international and it reflects the independence of the university. It is a continuation of a deep-rooted tradition, which can still be seen in today's modern world.
