Doctoral studies
In Finland, doctoral studies means academic or professional studies after graduating from an institution of higher education with a Master's degree.
A postgraduate degree is either a Licentiate* or Doctoral degree. In the Faculty of Medicine, however, students can complete a degree in specialised medicine or dentistry for their professional doctoral studies. Furthermore, students may complete eligibility and qualification studies at the University of Turku.

* Because the Licentiate is the basic degree at the Faculty of Medicine, the postgraduate degree is the Doctorate.
