Course Card

International students will receive a Course Card at the International Office upon registration with the University of Turku. Record your courses and grades on the card. After your exchange period, you will receive a Final Transcript based on the Course Card and on the completed grades in the study register.

The Course Card must include the following information on each course you take:

  • The name of the institution from IUTÅ (University of Turku/Åbo Akademi University )*
  • Course title
  • Course code/number
  • Instructor's name
  • Examination date
  • Grade
  • Number of credits

* at least 50% of your studies must be carried out at your host university

You should keep your course card and a picture ID (e.g. a student card, if you have one) with you when attending exams.

All completed courses must be recorded with the credits and grade received. If you have taken courses at Åbo Akademi University, you must record them in the Course Card, otherwise the grades and courses will not appear in the final transcript you receive from the University of Turku.

After your studies are completed, you must return the Course Card to the International Office in order to receive a final transcript of your studies. The final transcript will be sent to your home university by post.

N.B. If you are leaving Finland before some of your grades have been posted (e.g. an exam or essay at the end of the term), make sure that all of the other course information has been entered in the course card, and leave the grade blank. The International Office will ensure that the grade will appear on the final transcript.
