Exchange student registration
Exchange students should register in the University of Turku as soon as possible after their arrival.
The Orientation Course for new exchange students takes place on 29-31 August 2012, at Turku School of Economics Building, Rehtoripellonkatu 3.
Registration takes place at the International Office (Rehtorinpellonkatu 3).
You only need to proof your identity and fill in the Registration -form to inform us about your address in Turku.
The Info package for exchange students includes:
- Registration certificate
- Student record transcript for updating
- Course Card with UTU student number
- Student union membership fee bank receipt (personal)
- Starting package bank receipt
- Information about the Course Card etc.
Things to do after registration:
- Open the bank account if needed. There are many banks at Hämeenkatu nearby University Hill. Opening a bank account is free of charge but monthly payments are possible.
- Visit Computing Centre Infodesk at Educarium, 4th floor or one of the Campus Helpdesks to pick up your personal UTU user accounts to use computers. Take your ID/passport and Course Card with you.
- Pay the Student Union membership payment to bank for the Academic Year 2011-2012:
- for bachelor or master level students the amount is 90.00 € for the whole academic year and 45.00 € autumn term 2012 or spring term 2013.
- For PhD level students the amount is 34 € for the whole academic year or 17 € for one semester.
- Keep the bank receipt with you to proof your new membership before receiving the original Lyyra student card. This Student Union payment is VOLUNTARY for exchange students.
- Order the Lyyra student card : www.lyyra.fi (17 €) VOLUNTARY
- Pay the Starting Package payment to the bank (65 €). VOLUNTARY
If necessary, International Advisors will write temporary certificates for Matkahuolto (long distance buses) or VR (train company) before you receive the Lyyra card. You have to show the payed receipt of Student Union payment.
