Trains to and from Helsinki also stop at the Kupittaa Railway Station which is close to the universities and the Student Village. To and from Tampere direction you should only use the Main railway station in Turku.

you can find timetables and buy your train ticket online, provided that you have a Finnish internet banking service or a Visa, Visa Electron or Master Card.
To be eligible for the special student fares, you will need a Finnish student card. Please note that doctoral candidates or visiting students cannot buy discounted student tickets. The student reduction is 45-55 %. It is possible to buy student tickets using a bank (e.g. Visa Electron) or a credit card at special ticket vending machines at the railway stations. Alternatively, you can buy a ticket via the Internet with a credit card or by using the Internet banking service which you can get free of charge at your local Finnish bank. Tickets can be bought on the train as well, but an extra fee will be added! Please note that Visa Electron doesn’t work as a paying method on the train. You can get the railway timetable information in Finnish or Swedish via the ticket vending machines.
Please note! An ISIC card or other international student card do not entitle you to a student discount nor to the acquisition of a VR and Matkahuolto joint student card.

For Matkahuolto or Express bus operated long distance lines exchange- and degree students get a 50% reduction on the long distance buses if they travel for a minimum distance of 80 km with the student card. Please note that Doctoral candidates or visiting students cannot buy discounted student tickets.
Onnibus operates in low cost selling tickets in internet only, the basic idea is "the earlier you book the cheaper you fare". Hence, there are no reduced prices available for students.

The Turku airport is located about 8 kilometres from the city centre. There are several international flights arriving directly to Turku Airport. If your arrival time to Turku Airport is after the last bus and there is no taxi to be found, you can order one by using the service phone which is located near the exit on the arrivals level of the terminal. Taxi fare to town centre costs around 25 euros.
It is also quite convenient to arrive in Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. There are long distance bus connections leaving approximately every hour to Turku.
The travelling time between Helsinki-Vantaa airport and the Turku bus station is about two and a half hours and the fare costs around 32 euros/person.
There are two cruise lines which have regular connections Turku - Maarianhamina -Stockholm - Maarianhamina - Turku.
The Port of Turku is approximately two kilometres from the city centre and can be reached by local bus line 1.
