Our main objective is to provide high quality services that are carried out according to the precise needs of the client. The results produced are always presented in such a way that the client can make use of them in the most efficient manner.

In addition to consulting and research services, we offer project management services that include the planning and co-ordination of projects, reporting on the results, and the education of personnel.

We have three research units with over 20 specialists working in them.

We have specialists in traffic and ports in the Baltic Sea, logistics chains and infrastructure and in marine industry sector. Market and business environment monitoring is our key focus. 

Environmental impacts of maritime transport
Supporting marine spatial planning

We are concentrating in research and development projects related to the environmental issues of shipping and ports, especially to the benefits and costs of emission restrictions. We coordinate the interdisciplinary environmental research supporting  marine spatial planning and integrated coastal zone management.

Promoting of shortsea shipping

We host the Shortsea Promotion Centre Finland, which is recognised by both the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the European Commission as a centre representing Finland. The goal of SPC Finland is to promote shortsea shipping by dissemination of information and serving the actors and interest groups in the field.

 

Safety culture and management in maritime and port sector
Knowledge of Russian ports and transit traffic
ICT and work processes in ports

Research of maritime traffic (especially dangerous goods and transit traffic) and the processes, information systems, safety and environmental impacts of port related logistic chains.
