Giuseppe Luppino, President of Open ENLoCC and member of the Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL) in Bologna, in his opening speech praised the good cooperation between members and the knowledge exchange among the participating institutions. The keynote speech was held by Mrs. Desireé Oen, long-term member of the EU Commissioner on Transport’s cabinet. She pointed out that the transport corridors will follow the trend of digitization in logistics, in which the regions play a prominent role. The keynote was followed by self-presentations of the main European institutions dealing with freight transport and logistics under a regional perspective. The format was “Pecha Kucha”, i.e. 20 powerpoint slides, each presented for just 20 seconds, resulting in a most entertaining flow of facts, as quick as precise.
Open ENLoCC serves its members as well as the logistics sector by networking as an interface between science, administration and the sectorial economy. It issues the quarterly “European Review of Regional Logistics”, which can be downloaded from www.openenlocc.net as well as more info about the network, its currently 17 institutional members in the regions of Europe, and the presentations held during the anniversary.
