What is FinEd?
The Finnish Multidisciplinary Doctoral Training Network on Educational Sciences (FinEd) is a multidisciplinary network-like consortium which has its roots in the beginning of the Finnish graduate school system in 1995. Since then, the FinEd has created a well-functioning national researcher network in education and learning. The aim of FinEd is to educate nationally and internationally recognized researchers and to promote the development of multidisciplinary research in the field.
Beginning from the year 2013, the network has been re-formed to a new kind of cooperation network. As part of this renewal, FinEd broadened its scope for seven Finnish universities providing doctoral education in educational sciences (Universities of Eastern Finland, Jyväskylä, Lapland, Tampere, Turku, Oulu and Åbo Akademi).
