Organisation of the FinEd Network

Previously, the KASVA Network was financed by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture (the salaried posts of the doctoral candidates) and the Academy of Finland (operational funding). Since the beginning of the year 2013, each university has been fully responsible for the financing of its own doctoral training and the national financing has been abolished. Thus, each doctoral candidate is primarily a member of a doctoral training program of their own university.

However, the FinEd Network has during autumn 2015 reached an agreement between the educational faculties seven Finnish universities. These member units have pledged to the membership of the networt by an annual membership fee. Thus, FinEd continues its crucial function in connecting hundreds of doctoral students and many supervisors in the multidisciplinary field of educational sciences.
