Studying at the Department of Education

The Department of Education offers education leading to the degree of Master of Arts (Education). The major subject of the degree can be Education, Adult Education or Special Education.

The Master's degree programme consists of basic, intermediate and advanced studies in the major subject, studies of languages, communication and methodology as well as practical training in the working life, elective studies and minor subject studies. The language of tuition in the degree programmes is Finnish apart from the Master's Degree Programme in Education and Learning (EdLearn) where the language of tuition is English.

The graduates of the Department work in a number of different tasks in the field of education and schooling contributing to the well-being of the surrounding society. The research findings of the Department benefit students, teachers, families and decision makers both nationally and internationally.
