Rethinking Expertise in History

The "Rethinking Expertise in History" (ReThink) network examines the practices of professional historical research and the acquisition of relevant skills from the point of view of education and the theory of history. Research is conducted jointly at the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Turku and the subject of Philosophy at both the University of Oulu and Åbo Akademi University. The network is continuing the work initiated by a previous project at the Dept. of Teacher Education, titled "Visual Literacy as an Element of Expertise in History" (funded by the Finnish Cultural Foudation in 2013).
