Research activities in the FFA include meetings for researchers, international seminars and active participation in scientific publications.

The most important FFA research project is functioning as a node in the Millennium Project. Interviews of significant individuals representing various fields are used as a basis for analysing, explaining and describing global long-term phenomena, and presenting different futures possibilities and strategies.

The methods of futures research are also utilised in detecting future challenges for learning, teaching and education, and responding to these challenges.

Co-operation with other organisations

Actors in Futures Studies around the world work closely together. We are actively involved within such institutions as the World Futures Studies Federation, the World Future Society, the Finnish Society for Futures Studies, the Committee for the Futurethe Club of Rome and its Finnish Association.
