 Some of the previous projects:

6aalto-nosto.jpgThe 6th Wave and Systemic Innovations for Finland: Success Factors for the Years 2010-2050 (6th Wave) was funded by Tekes during 2012-2013. It investigated the Kondratieff waves, a theory depicting the long waves of economic activity, as first formulated by Soviet economist Nikolai Kondratieff in the beginning of the 20th century. The project was conducted in partnership with Finnish Forest Industry Federation and Federation of Finnish Financial Services, and ran a number of workshops both in Finland, as well as in the Silicon Valley in collaboration with Institute for the Future.

beyond-nosto.jpgThe Beyond 2015 project was carried out during the year 2013. The project looked at the domestic debates on development frameworks in Kenya and Tanzania post-2015. The discussions on post-2015 development frameworks have to a great extent been conducted in the development donor sphere. The aim of this research was to highlight the local and national voices on development that are often not heard on the international arena.

The Climate Discussion of Transport (CAST) project was carried out during 2009-2012. Ii analysed the EU climate and energy package in the context of the Finnish discussion of transport policy. The CAST also analysed the national CO2 based car tax reform in order to reach a reduction of transport carbon dioxide emissions. The CAST project aimed at interdisciplinary understanding by analysing the problem with a holistic Environmental Protection Process (EPP) framework developed by the team.

dream.jpgThe research project DREAM was funded by Academy of Finland during 2009-2012. It aimed to improve understanding of reasons why energy projects often fail, and seek to offer means to develop the planning and implementation of future renewable energy projects. The overall aim was to help the transition towards increasing sustainable use of renewable energy in the developing countries.

festos.jpgForesight of Evolving Security Threats Posed by Emerging Technologies (FESTOS) concentrated on future security threats posed by malicious use of emerging technologies (ICT, nanotechnology, biotechnology, robotics, new materials and converging technologies). The project was funded within the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union and it was carried out during 2008-2011.
