Maximising wellbeing and minimising emissions: backcasting social visions for a low carbon Europe (MAXWELL)

MAXWELL is an EU Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie Action supported at the Finland Futures Research Centre. This postdoctoral fellowship has been awarded to Tadhg O' Mahony to explore different conceptions of wellbeing and develop future energy scenarios of the EU to 2050.

The scenarios will be modelled and a low-carbon Europe will be backcast. The project will then establish the policy frameworks and actions necessary to maximise wellbeing and minimise emissions in the EU.

The project started in September 2015 and will be completed in 24 months.

"This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 657865."
