Research at SLT

Within the Faculty of Humanities The School of Languages and Translation Studies (SLT) is a multi-disciplinary expert organization with special expertise in languages, cultures and communication. It is divided into ten different units (departments). The School has been ranked by QS World University Ranking among the 250 best departments of Languages (2015).

The overall research profile of the SLT is connected with the university’s strategy and has been divided into five interconnected areas of strength: 1.The study of cultural and social interaction processes; 2.The study of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Times; 3. The study of learning and teaching; 4. Grammatical and lexical research; 5. Philological research.

At present, the SLT and its units are continuously engaged in multiple projects, and publications are produced in cooperation with various partners nationally and internationally. One of the main strengths is the wide scope of research in various departments.

The SLT further encourages cooperation in the form of research projects, joint publications and doctoral studies, and supports research that has international cutting-edge potential
