The study of both public and private law aspects of the knowledge society legal regulation will expand the career opportunities beyond those of traditional legal experts within the innovation and communication sectors. Leading law firms, corporations active in innovation and communication, as well as the relevant regulatory authorities have been consulted in the planning of the program.

This is to ensure that the program provides the qualifications necessary for careers at law firms and corporations, governments and international organizations, as well as universities and research institutions alike. The completed Master’s Degree qualifies its holder to pursue postgraduate studies in law at the University of Turku, Faculty of Law, subject to separate application procedure.

As Master of International and Comparative Law you can work for example in following positions:

  • Legal Counsel in a tech company
  • Expert in an international organization
  • Data protection officer in an insurance agency

The program offers traineeship opportunity  for recent graduates in the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante (Spain) and the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich (Germany). Please see the detailed criteria for application.
