Quality, Evaluation and Development

The quality assessment of the University of Turku Library as well as developing the activities and services is an on-going process.

Quality management  is realised in various ways:

  • The team organisation evaluates and develops its activities.
  • The voice of the academic community is heard through the discipline specific advisory boards and the discipline specific libraries.
  • The customers are given a chance to influence and give feedback, for example, through the international LibQUAL customer satisfaction survey that is carried out every other year.
  • The acquisition of online materials is discussed with the discipline specific advisory boards and customer feedback is collected on the trials.
  • The opinions of the Student Union are annually surveyed.
  • Customer feedback (oral and written) is documented and handled in the units.
  • Statistical information on the operation of the library is collected annually and it is added to the Research Library Statistics Database that is open to all.
  • The library is part of the quality management system of the University of Turku and the operation of the library supports the strategy of the University.
