Publishing in the Annales Universitatis Turkuensis series

The Annales series is divided into the following subseries depending on the discipline and the language of the dissertation. The discipline and the language of publication (Finnish/foreign language) determine in which subseries your dissertation will be published. The publication series is thus not determined by the faculty:

Doctoral dissertations in mathematics, astronomy, chemistry and physics.

Doctoral dissertations in biosciences, geography and geology.
  • Ser B: Humaniora, ISSN 0082-6987 (PRINT), ISSN 2343-3191 (ONLINE)
Doctoral dissertations in humanities, social sciences, educational sciences and law.

For example, if your dissertation is in medicine/nursing science, education or law but the dissertation is written in Finnish, it belongs to this series. Exception. Contact the printing company in advance especially if your schedule is tight or you defend your dissertation close to the end of the term (late spring/December) or in the summer.

You can also contact the Annales series already before receiving the permission to publish if you have a tight schedule so that we can discuss your situation.
