​Description of research

Acute and chronic effects of exercise on human physiology studied using Positron Emission Tomography

The aim of my research is to explore the physiological effects and health benefits of acute and chronic effects of exercise on different tissues in human body. I am specifically interested on

  • The effects of high-intensity interval training on skeletal muscle and myocardial metabolism

  • The effects of acute exercise on skeletal muscle and myocardial blood flow and its regulation

  • Endogenous opioids -mediated reward in the brain after exercise in health and disease
