FinnBrain Birth Cohort Study: Early Life Stress

Description of research

Several substudies within the Finn Brain Cohort Study, most important being:
  1. early life stress and child neuropsychological (stress and emotion regulation, temperament, executive functioning) development
  2. early life stress and gut-brain axis
  3. early life stress and paediatric infectious diseases
To investigate the effects of prenatal and early life stress on child brain development in a prospective, multidisciplinary cohort. To conduct intervention studies based on the findings on the potential novel targets.
