Life-long determinants of healthy aging

Description of research

Finnish Retirement and Aging study (FIREA) aims to determine how health behaviors and clinical cardiovascular risk factors change around retirement transition by following aging workers from work to full-time retirement. In addition, we examine long-term factors that associate with extended working careers as well as consequences of extended working-life participation on post-retirement health and functioning.
