​Description of Research

Bacterial Signalling Molecules in Immune Response Regulation and Biofilm Eradication: With the aid of bacterial messenger molecule analogs, it is possible to activate host innate- and immune responses and epithelial integrity in a dose that is relevant to inhibit bacterial virulence mechanisms.

Exploring the Role of Nrf2/ARE Pathway in Periodontitis: The Nrf2 pathway plays a dominative role in redox homeostasis and in defence mechanisms against oxidative stress. There is a need to define the molecular mechanisms of the Nrf2/ARE pathway under physiological and pathological conditions and highlight the protective role of this pathway in periodontitis.
