The tasks of the Faculty and departments are determined by the university regulations for administration. The Faculty administration is run by the Faculty board, the Dean and Vice Dean, and the Faculty office. The Faculty board makes decisions about e.g. personnel recruitment, dividing the funding allocated to the Faculty, approving the curricula, and matters concerning doctoral and licentiate theses.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has seven Departments. The administration at the departments is run by the Head of Department, deputy and the office staff belonging to the administrative staff unit of the Faculty and placed at the departments.
