Instrumentation and Instrument Centre

Chemistry and physics are perhaps the most instrument-oriented branches of science. This feature is their strength, but also their weakness. The ever-developing technology enables e.g. the reliable analysis of substances from lower and lower  concentrations, but at the same time it gets very expensive to keep up-to-date instrumentation.

Most of the instruments of our department are located at the Instrument Centre, but also the research groups have high-quality instruments of their own. We offer analysis services with the following main instruments of the research groups:

Waters Xevo UPLC-DAD-MS/MS (j-p.salminen(at)

ABI3400 DNA-RNA-syntesizer (pasi.virta(at)
