Studying Contemporary History

It is possible to study in English at the Department of Philosophy, Contemporary History and Political Science. While most Contemporary History degree requirements and lecture courses offered are by default in Finnish, special arrangements will be made if necessary. A student aspiring to study in English should contact the department staff.

Teaching is available in English through the History and Politics of European Integration and East Asian Studies programs. There may also be other lecture courses or guest lectures given in English each year.

In addition, the University offers a variety of Master's Degree Programs in English, some of which may also be of interest for Contemporary History students - for example the Baltic Sea Region Studies program in the Faculty of Humanies.
