Pan-European Institute

The Pan-European Institute (PEI) observes the economic development in the Baltic Sea region and in the EU's neighboring countries, particularly in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.

PEI conducts research that constitutes the basis of the courses provided at Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku. The main interest groups for the Institute are international institutions, Finnish governmental organisations and the Academy of Finland, as well as large corporations.

Furthermore PEI publishes the Baltic Rim Economies (BRE) review in which experts write about current themes and events in the Baltic Sea region.

In 2017 the institute celebrates its 30th anniversary and organises a high-level seminar "Russian Enigma - Decoding mysteries and turning them into business opportunities" at the Turku School of Economics on 21 November 2017.
