Key areas of research at the Department of Economics include (i) econometrics, forecasting and housing markets; (ii) microeconomic theory and social choice; (iii) economic policy and public economics. The Department is a partner in the Public Choice Research Centre, a centre of excellence in research funded by the Academy of Finland. A selection of recent working papers of the faculty members can be found on the webpage of the Aboa Centre for Economic Research (ACE). ACE is a joint initiative with the School of Business and Economics at Åbo Akademi University and its aim is to coordinate research and education in economics in the two universities.
