Abstract submission

Paper presentations

In thematic groups participants present and discuss ongoing or finished research in 90 minute sessions. Generally one session includes three presentations, when each presentation takes 20 minutes and time reserved for discussion is ten minutes per paper.

More specific programme with the presentation timetable together with the abstracts is published on the conference website in the beginning of November.

Instructions for writing the abstract

  1. Write and save the abstract as a Word document.
  2. In the beginning, mention the thematic group where your proposal is offered. If you are unsure which of the groups is the most suitable for your presentation, you can also give a second option for thematic group. The organizing committee and the chairs of the thematic groups will evaluate the suitability of the presentations to different groups.
  3. The title of the abstract (Times New Roman 14 bold)
  4. The name(s) of the author(s), university and department or respective and email address (Times New Roman 12)
  5. Text of the abstract (Times New Roman 12, single line spacing). The maximum length of the abstract is 200 words. Write the abstract in the same language as you will present (Finnish of English). Make sure that the abstract includes essential elements of your research work, depending on the nature of the research e.g. framework and justification, research question, methods and (expected) results.

Send the abstract attached to an email message to address kasvatustieteenpaivat2016@utu.fi at the 23rd September latest. Write “paper proposal” as the title of your message. Notifications of the approval will be sent 5th October.

Poster presentations

In poster exhibition participants have a possibility to present and discuss ongoing or finished research with the same scientific criteria as in paper sessions.

Size of the poster is A1 (portrait orientation 841 mm x 594 mm). In addition to the poster exhibition you have a possibility to present your finished poster on conference Facebook site before the conference. More specific information on this will be given as the notifications will be sent.

  2. The title of the abstract (Times New Roman 14 bold)
  3. The name(s) of the author(s), university and department or respective and email address (Times New Roman 12)
