Children’s University Provides Small Answers to Big Questions about Science

The Children’s University organises science lectures and science workshops in the spring and science camps in the summer. On the science lectures, the University experts present their research to schoolchildren aged from 7 to 10. At the end of lectures, the children have a chance to ask questions from the researchers.

On the summer camps, children get to be the scientists and experiment hands-on. The themes of camps range from physics to robotics, astronomy, biology and history. The age of participants varies between 10 and 15 years, depending on the camp.

Registration for lectures and camps takes place during March. Please note that the lectures and camps are held in Finnish.

The University of Turku was the first university in Finland to begin the Children’s University project in 2008. You can learn more about the activities of the Children’s University through photographs and videos.
