CAS is at the heart of the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) Diploma Programme. It engages students in a range of extracurricular activities that involve creativity (arts and other experiences that entail creative thinking), action (physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle), and service (voluntary work). The CAS program is different for each individual but all activities chosen should be challenging and support the student's personal and interpersonal development. The CAS program starts after the pre-IB year and lasts for a minimum of 18 months. Two CAS coordinators assist students in building their electronic CAS portfolio.
