Managing the challenges and opportunities of Globalization: Global Business, Partnerships and Skills development - an integrated perspective
Professor Van Tulder (RSM Erasmus University) will give a research seminar on his view on Globalization. He will elaborate three parallel and interrelated projects he is managing. These three projects tackle the interrelationship between business and society for addressing the societal challenges and opportunities of globalization at three levels: the global, the firm, the personal level.
The first project involves the update of his 2006 textbook to on International Business-Society Management (published with Routledge and covered by a website: www.ib-sm.org). The second project aims at enhancing global business strategies through the elaboration of partnership strategies (see the website: www.partnershipsresourcecentre.org). The third project starts with the challenges and concepts (for instance of a bargaining society) as developed in the first two projects and is aimed at skills development for students, researchers and managers. This project has resulted in a formula called ‘Skill Sheets’ (published with Pearsons) (www.skillsheets.nl).
Rob van Tulder is also acting as an opponent at Salla Laasonen’s dissertation defence on 17.2.2012.
