Content:

The Presentation Skills course is designed for doctoral level students from all the faculties who need to present their research at conferences. At the end of the course the student should be able to competently give a conference presentation on a topic related to their own research. They will have a greater level of knowledge of the structure of presentations. They will understand the importance of visual aids and be able to use them effectively. They will be more aware of their body language in presentation situations. They will be able to use language effectively. Students make a variety of different presentations aimed at a scientific audience. We cover what makes a good presentation, use of visuals, body language, and effective use of language. Students give presentations to different audience 'levels' and get feedback from their peers and teacher.
