Solving wicked problems in the global environment and society requires new technologies, for example, in the digital and green transition. At the same time, digitalisation and technologies change our world, challenging the way we think and act.

Twin Transition in Hydrosphere (HydroTwin) The project studies dual transition in the water sector and the development of related methods and approaches.
HydroTwin is funded by the Academy of Finland (Profi 8).

The SUSMAT university profiling measure enhances the design of sustainable materials and manufacturing with data-driven approach to solve global energy, health, and well-being, and industrial production challenges.
Digital Futures (DF) is research profile project of the University of Turku supported by the Academy of Finland in 2018-2022. It aims to build unique potential for leading edge digitalisation research by strengthening innovative research and intensifying collaboration. Digital Futures facilitates the exploration of digitalisation, experimentation with digital resources and collaboration with colleagues. Activities focus on Ideas and New Research, Data, and Teaching.
Digital Futures brings together actors inside, around and away from the university as participants and partners in multidisciplinary collaboration and research projects.
Cultural Heritage in the Digital Age: The project explores the challenges posed by the digitisation of cultural heritage as well as the continuously emerging new forms of digital cultural heritage.
DigiHeri is funded by the Academy of Finland (Profi 8).
