Career at the Faculty of Education

The Faculty of Education is an inspiring and active community: in addition to the faculty’s staff, our community includes students and pupils from our teacher training schools. The faculty’s departments and teacher training schools operate across three campuses.

Recruitment is guided by the general collective agreement for universities, the University of Turku’s regulations, as well as the instructions and directives issued by the Rector of the University of Turku.

Vacancies in the faculty are primarily announced on the university’s website and in other public information channels.

Applying to become a docent

Upon application, the University may confer the title of Docent on a person who possesses thorough knowledge of their field, has demonstrated through publications or otherwise the ability to conduct independent research or artistic work, and has good teaching skills.

At the Faculty of Education, you can apply for the title of docent twice a year. The application periods are 15.1.-15.2. and 1.9.-30.9. Read more about the faculty guidelines for applicants for the title of Docent.
