Digitisation of Finnish newspapers from the 1940s completed

The digitisation of Finnish newspapers from the 1940s has been completed. The newspapers are available to UTU staff and students by logging in with HAKA. Other customers can use the journals at the Library's cultural material workstations. 

The National Library of Finland is continuously digitising Finnish newspapers, and the Finnish-language newspapers of the 1940s are now available. 

Newspapers available with HAKA log in or at the cultural material workstations 

The 1940s newspapers can be accessed on digi.kansalliskirjasto.fi, but with limited access for copyright reasons. 

  • for university staff and students: log in with HAKA from your own computer

  • for others: access is available at the cultural material workstations located at the Arcanum Library and the Feeniks Library

  • Finnish-language newspapers and journals until 1939 

  • Swedish-language journals until 1939

  • Swedish-language newspapers until 1949
