Erik De Corte Award for Jake McMullen at EARLI 2019

Postdoctoral Researcher, Docent Jake McMullen from University of Turku’s Faculty of Education has won the esteemed Erik De Corte biennial award at this year’s international EARLI 2019 Conference in Aachen, Germany.

The Erik De Corte Award is awarded in recognition of an early career and promising scholar in the field of Learning and Instruction.

– As a part of the research group, my work aims to examine the learning and teaching processes that influence mathematical development and look for empirically validated means to improve learning for all. With this award I was recognized for my work that I've done in collaboration with the Mathematical Learning Research Group led by Minna Hannula-Sormunen and Erno Lehtinen, McMullen says.

The criteria of the award include innovative value of the publications and valuable participation and contribution in research projects in the field of Learning and Instruction.

The Erik De Corte award is handed out biennially by the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) at the EARLI Conference.
