Processes in industry need to be more standardized in order to gain benefit from digital solutions.

The final report of DigiPro project states that the complexity of maritime and construction industry processes decreases possibilities to benefit from digitally enabled service solutions. Project structure standardizing is required in order to employ digital solutions effectively.

Based on a survey, the final report also notices that industry project managers are in general satisfied with the current state of project efficiency. Industry outsiders appear to be better able to critically evaluate the processes and the operating models that dominate in an industry and hence see the potential for improvement.

DigiPro – Internationally scalable business from digitalization – project examined anticipatory project controlling solutions and how they can be exploited in creating profitable business operations. The partners of the project were Turku School of Economics in University of Turku and School of Business and Management in Lappeenranta University of Technology as well as four Finnish SMEs. The main financier of the project was Business Finland.
