Library Opening and Service Hours in December and at the Turn of the Year 2025–2026
Exceptions at the Beginning of December
On Independence Day, Saturday 6 December, Feeniks Library, Teutori Library, and the Newspaper and Ephemera Services will be completely closed. Other library units will be available for self-service use with a university access card.
On Friday 12 December 2025, customer service will be closed all day at the Turku campus units, except for Feeniks Library. Self-service use is possible, and Feeniks Library customer service will assist by phone in case of problems: tel. 050 455 7059.
Christmas and New Year
All library units except Feeniks Library will be closed from 20 December 2025 to 6 January 2026. Self-service use of spaces and printed collections will not be possible during this period.
Feeniks Library opening hours
Closed Sat–Sun 20–21 December 2025
Open on weekdays 22–31 December 2025 from 8 am to 4 pm. Customer service is open from 9am to 4 pm.
Closed 1–6 January 2026

Library Services
Interlibrary loan service will be closed from 20 December 2025 to 6 January 2026.
It will not be possible to make requests in Volter for library materials between 20 December 2025 and 6 January 2026. However, you can order items from the Feeniks Library storage by contacting kirjasto@utu.fi.
Loans can be returned to the outdoor return boxes at Feeniks Library, Educarium Library, and Teutori Library while the libraries are closed.
The university has a procurement break in effect until the end of the year. In the library, this applies both to books acquired for the library’s collections and to departmental orders, meaning orders placed for the departments.
Library online services and electronic resources are available with University of Turku credentials 24/7 throughout Christmas and New Year.
