– Establishing the Faculty of Technology has been a strategic decision for the University. The new faculty will surely have a strongly motivated Dean in Järvi. His strengths include knowledge of the field of technology, vision for developing the activities of the Faculty, and extensive international experience as well as the existing networks and collaboration opportunities brought along by that, says the Rector of the University of Turku Jukka Kola.

Jaakko Järvi will be managing the new Faculty of Technology which has almost 2,000 students. As the University of Turku has been expanding its scope in technology, both the number of students and the number of professors is growing quickly.
